Isn't grinding expensive?

With today's technology, grinding is no longer an expensive alternative. The latest in CNC advancements have significantly reduced the cost of Ground Gears, now making them competitive with previously accepted options (i.e. shaving, skive hobbing). When you consider the cost of inspecting and sorting "after heat treat", grinding becomes even more attractive.

Can you provide statistical data?

Yes, in addition to normal in-process gear data and/or required certifications, we can provide "SPC" data as determined by your specifications (i.e. "Critical to Quality" characteristics).

But is it really AGMA 15?

Although a number of existing machine tools are capable of producing an AGMA Class 15 gear, the better question is: "What kind of inspection instrument is used to check it?" By utilizing the Höfler EMZ 402, CNC Inspection Center, Niagara Gear is capable of meeting the tightest accuracies established for gear instruments, per German VDI/VDE, Class 1.
